“Nothing will work unless you do”- Maya Angelou
Hey #writingcommmunity, do you ever get writer’s block? And if so, how do you deal with it?
That was the question I posted on Twitter a couple of days ago and received some great tips and ideas. (Thank you Twitter #writingcommmunity!)
First of all, what is ‘writer’s block’ and how does it affect your focus?
According to Wikipedia, “Writer’s block is a condition, primarily associated with writing, in which an author loses the ability to produce new work, or experiences a creative slowdown…”
During such a period of undetermined length, a writer can experience “difficulty in coming up with original ideas” or even be “unable to produce a work for years”.

One common thread found in the advice from the #writingcommmunity is, to take a break!
Writer’s block can be caused by a number of reasons… mental fatigue, lack of inspiration, external circumstances, internal stress…etc.
So taking a break… going for a walk, reading a book, listening to music… these are activities that may help you to collect your thoughts, regain your inspiration and focus once again, on your writing!
